Chiengora?!?!

So last night, as I was knitting, I had a brilliant idea - why don't I spin my puppies fur to make yarn??? Of course, that requires learning how to spin first. The engineer in me made me started to do some research online when I woke up this "morning", and I came across this wonderful site on how to spin dog hair into yarn - Chiengora Chic! So you would ask, what's a Chiengora (pronounced she-an-gora)? Well, apparently that's the name for dog hair yarn! Her site was full of info on what it is, what you need to do, how can you do it, etc. I am so inspired that I am going to start saving Bruno, Mick and Vanilla's undercoat after I brush them. Maybe, just maybe, I will get enough of dog hair to make me some soft and warm garments!

Hey guys. Sounds like you'll be producing soon! It's always nice to give something back to our SHE's and HE's. Try not to make too many people sneeze though:-) Chiengora...Chien is dog in french, cute name adaptation. I don't think my guard hairs would spin very well, but maybe after the Alaska move my undercoat will develop....can't wait to see pictures of Vanilla!
